How To Get To Bled, Slovenia

Traveling & Nearest Airports
You can fly to Slovenia by air to the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik International Airport.
Alternatively, you can fly to any of the airports in the neighboring countries then continue by bus, train or rental car to Slovenia.
By road you can enter Slovenia from Italy, Austria, Hungary or Croatia. Slovenia is a member of the EU, so entry from the EU Member States is rapid and easy. If you are driving by car make sure you purchase a vignette at the border – a sticker that pays for the road taxes on country’s highways. Vignette's can be purchased at all petrol stations in Slovenia and in neighboring. countries. Information on Vignette's can be found here: https://www.dars.si/.
Bled is 54 km to Ljubljana, 144 km to Trieste, 290 km to Venice, 360 km to Munich, 220 km to Graz, 378 km to Vienna, 515 km to Budapest, 198 km to Zagreb and 588 km to Belgrade.
The closest airport is the Jože Pučnik Airport 35 km away. Klagenfurt Airport is 65 km away. The closest bus stop to the hotel is 950 meters away, while the railway station is 3.5 km from the hotel.

Border Formalities
There are no checks at the border crossings with Italy, Austria and Hungary. To enter Slovenia from Croatia, it is sufficient to have a passport or an identity document, if the visit does not last more than three months. The same is with other Eu countries. The most up-to-date information on border crossing is available on the policija.si and gov.si websites.
Visas
If you need a visa to enter Slovenia, you can obtain one from the Slovenian consular mission in your country. If there is no Slovenian consular mission in your country, please contact a consular mission of any Member State of the Schengen Area.
U.S. citizens may enter Slovenia for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. Check right away to see if you need a visa!!

Workshop Location & Parking
RIKLI BALANCE HOTEL, In the Arnold Group Room
Cankarjeva 4, 4260 Bled, Slovenija
Hotel Rikli Balance is situated on a hill overlooking Lake Bled.
Grand Hotel Toplice 5* and hotel Hotel Park 4* are located, around 5 minutes walking distance from the workshop location.
Parking is free of charge for all Stargate participants staying 5 nights or more.
Other parking options
- Guests who are staying at our hotels and using the hotel car parks will be charged a parking fee of EUR 10 per day (one day means 24 hours, starting at 14.00 on the day of arrival and ending at 14.00 on the day of departure).
- If the hotel car parks are full, guests can use the Želeče car park (on Cankarjeva cesta road) about 250 m away from the Rikli Balance Hotel, about 400 m away from the Hotel Park, and about 700 m away from the Grand Hotel Toplice. For guests staying at our hotels, the price of parking in the Želeče car park is EUR 7 per day (one day means 24 hours, starting at 14.00 on the day of arrival and ending at 14.00 on the day of departure). The Želeče car park is not permanently open.
- Parking spaces cannot be booked in advance.
- Parking fees are payable at hotel reception.
- Other public parking spaces are available. You need to buy a ticket on the spot.

The Global Stargate Gathering begins at 10am on Friday, September 9th.
Please be in the room by 9:45am each day, and come in early to connect with your friends and make new ones!
If you are joining this gathering it is necessary to commit to being at each session!
The gathering completes at 4:15pm on Tuesday, September 13th.

Lunches are not included during this 5-day event. We have an arrangement with the hotel for a reduced price if you choose to have the lunch buffet (self-service) in the hotel's restaurant. This special arrangement only applies to the Rikli Balance Hotel hotel where the retreat is happening, so it is very convenient!

Tips in the hotels and restaurants
In Slovenia the bill you get for services is final. The tip is an appreciated extra and not an obligation. However, it is great to honor your abundance by sharing a little of it! :-)
Weather in September
September begins to get cooler in Bled, but it still remains fairly pleasant. Daytime temperatures still reach up to a high of 20°C (68°F) and, at night, cool to around 9°C (48°F) .
You would still be fine to head out during the day wearing light clothing, however there is a risk of rain showers at this time of year so it would be wise to bring a light jacket, waterproof mac and umbrella with you.
